What differentiates Netskope CASB from other similar products?

Well, this is the only CASB that I have made use of but in terms of policy configuration, it is very easy to use!!!

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Policy Configuration. Extremely easy.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Difficult to configure policy to block upload to sensitive files to cloud storages.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You should give it a try but spell out your requirements as that will help you navigate. Very easy to use again!

What truly sets this platform apart is its deep visibility and real-time decoding capabilities for cloud traffic, especially when dealing with unmanaged or shadow IT applications. Unlike traditional solutions that only offer basic log analysis, it provides highly granular context into exactly what actions users are taking inside cloud apps, allowing for precise control over data movement without entirely blocking access.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect is the robust and highly accurate Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engine. The ability to create complex data protection profiles that scan for sensitive information—like PII or proprietary source code—in real-time across multiple cloud environments gives us immense peace of mind. The policy engine is highly reliable and prevents data leaks before they actually happen.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The most challenging part of using the software is the steep learning curve associated with initial policy configuration and fine-tuning. Because the system is so granular and powerful, setting up custom rules can sometimes feel overly complex and time-consuming. Navigating the administration console occasionally requires clicking through multiple layers of menus just to implement a straightforward policy change

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I highly recommend taking the time to fully map out your organization's cloud data flows and current shadow IT footprint during the proof-of-concept phase. Additionally, make sure your security team utilizes Netskope's training modules early on, as understanding the architecture beforehand will greatly accelerate your deployment timeline and help you avoid misconfiguring policies out of the gate.
