Defender for Endpoint customers need to apply for the Microsoft Threat Experts managed threat hunting service to get proactive Targeted Attack Notifications and to collaborate with experts on demand. Experts on Demand is an add-on service. Targeted Attack Notifications are always included after you have been accepted into Microsoft Threat Experts managed threat hunting service.

What differentiates Microsoft Defender for Endpoint from other similar products?

Performance, the agent is so silent you can almost think there's no EDR installed on the computer. Uses very very low system resource it's impressive.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Automation. Very few times have I had to remediate a malware detection, it does the remediation job very good

What do you dislike most about this product?

Malware detection is not as aggressive as similar products, which means some malware may be detected by other products, but missed by MDE. But I've also noticed these missed malware have very low severity, so it seems like there's not enough focus on low severity malware, but for high severity malware, MDE does a better job in remediation and forensics.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's a very good product, and if depend heavily on Microsoft solutions in your environment, then MDE is almost always your best choice of EDR.
