Azure VMs stand out with deep Microsoft ecosystem integration (Windows, Active Directory, SQL), strong hybrid support via Azure Arc, and broad instance variety with enterprise‑grade security and governance tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like Azure VMs’ deep Microsoft ecosystem integration—especially how smoothly they work with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure services, making deployment and management feel effortless.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I dislike the occasional complexity in networking configurations—simple tasks like outbound access or IP management can feel more involved than necessary.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I’d recommend planning your network setup early, using Azure Advisor for optimization tips, and taking advantage of hybrid benefits if you already use Microsoft services. It’ll save time, cost, and headaches.

What differentiates Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines from other similar products?

I find Azure’s resource tagging very helpful for sorting out and tracing cloud costs by project. Also, its multi-factor authentication elevates the security of remote VM access efficiently.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like relying on Azure VMs to run mission-critical jobs with high availability and rich disaster recovery options. It has also enabled me to quickly top up VM resources during peak jobs and top down during off-peak hours to save costs. Besides this, I can easily assemble load balancers to distribute traffic across different VMs for better availability.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Although the deployment of VMs through the portal is simple. But in the beginning, I faced complexity in setting up the automation scripts.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you have to manage different environments, try tagging your VMs by project, owner, and environment, which will eventually help in organizing and tracking costs more easily. Also, make sure to set up automated backup and snapshot policies, which will save you in case of accidental changes or failures.
