Jitsi is a set of open-source projects that allows you to easily build and deploy secure videoconferencing solutions. We are best known for our Jitsi Meet video conferencing platform, meet.jit.si where we host a Jitsi Meet instance that the community can use for totally free video conferences , and the Jitsi Videobridge that powers all of our multi-party video capabilities.

What differentiates jitsi from other similar products?

It provides features that other companies will charge an arm and a leg for, for FREE! And it's so easy to use! Really great for when you are working with people who aren't tech experts because they can join from their browser (on both PC and mobile!), download an app on their phone or PC, call-in, etc. etc. So many options!

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The cost. Small non-profits who do a lot of virtual work know why this is so important!

What do you dislike most about this product?

Jitsi, unfortunately, does not function well with older models of phones, or for people with weak internet connections. Be prepared for some lag, some drops, etc. // We've also found that the audio share function is VERY bugged and are still awaiting some improvements in that realm. We just can't get it to work no matter how much we try and troubleshoot and write in.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're on a budget, this is your best option even if it isn't perfected. Have a contingency plan in place for people having issues with lag or dropping out of the meeting due to extreme lag or poor connections. Be prepared to deal with the really weird auto-emoji/auto-reaction feature that can make things a bit awkward. It's been an uphill battle with turning that feature off. It's not always appropriate!
