Fortinet and Forticlient: good and bad

What differentiates FortiClient from other similar products?

I believe that even though Fortinet has many good products, the strength of Forticlient depends on the Fortinet security fabric that exists. By itself, Forticlient is merely passable. Being bundled together with other Fortinet products is where the true security exists.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The integration with other Fortinet products, becoming the security fabric.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Left on its own, Forticlient does not stack up to other products when it comes to detection and response.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Do your testing. Make sure the product does what you need.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Setting it up initially might be hectic.

However high the cost might be, you will always get value for money.

Good VPN for secure remote access

What differentiates FortiClient from other similar products?

It is simple to set up and easy to use. Connecting to client or office VPN is straightforward and it provides secure remote access without much configuration

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like that the VPN connection is easy to use and does not require much setup. Once connected it usually works well and gives secure access to client resources.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sometimes the VPN takes time to connect or disconnects on unstable networks. The application can also feel a little heavy after updates and needs to reconnect occasionally.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend it if you need a simple VPN for secure remote access. It is easy to manage and works well for occasional use. Just expect a few connection issues on weak networks from time to time.
