Creo
What is Creo?
PTC's CAD softwares makes product design more efficient by automating processes that were once manual, such as traditional drafting. With 3D CAD, designers can also do solid modeling, creating three-dimensional representations of their products.

What differentiates Creo from other similar products?
The main advantage creo has over other softwares is of the price. It is much cheaper than its other counterparts. Organization of trainings is simpler and better than other softwares but the content has scope of improvement in areas covered. Talking especially the way the software suggests tools and a probable next step is wonderful.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
As mentioned earlier the suggestion of tools during 2-D drawing is what amazes me. It also has fantastic integration with Windchill software which I think has a great utility for commercial and industrial uses of CREO. Overall its a powerful tool with multiple options it their array. They have other useful packages and suites which you can install as per your needs and requirements. Surfacing is a specific feature is what distincts it from other softwares. Also it handles assemblies quite well.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The ability to handle large files is what concerned me while working on this. There was a probability that the software will crash while handling large files. This creates lag which no software user wants it especially in deadline driven corporate world. The suggestive feature is kind of buggy in some sense because for me it tried to suggest an assembly which wasn't feasible. So I haven't been able to use the suggestive feature quite a lot so willcomplain in this aspect.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The price is great so really a value for your dollar. You'll have to stay alert and not just follow its suggestive feature. If you're a student with limited applications and usage with a budget constraint then i'd say go for it. But for large scale industrial purposes I'd rather not suggest this product to them. Because here you tend to use large files and have complex structures and assemblies. So you would like to have a more reliable software which doesn't lag as the file size will be significantly large in this scenario.
Pros
- Reliable
- Continually Improving Product
- Performance Enhancing
- Unique Features

"How to draw in 3D for engineers"
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Creo from other similar products?
Our previous technology was terrible with large assemblies and had poor analytical tools. File and folder management may lead to data loss, requiring backups. Design standards were difficult to enforce, which caused extended design lead times. Creo and PDM connectivity doubled the engineering department's productivity.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Standards, tools, flexible, pervasive. CAD tool for 2d-3d, precise drawing, rendering, etc. I had to study this for a lesson at school, and even though I found it tough to grasp, once you do understand it, you won't be sorry that you took the time to learn it.
What do you dislike most about this product?
To get this license will set you back a significant amount of money, and training will take a significant amount of time.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
- This software may be used for a wide variety of applications that are linked to engineering. - You may make multiple complicated patterns at once. - User friendly GUI
Pros
- Generous Negotitation
- Over Delivered
- Continually Improving Product
- Performance Enhancing
