What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect of Chief Architect Premier is its intuitive design workflow that automatically generates 3D models, elevations, sections, and construction documents from a single floor plan. This seamless integration between 2D and 3D not only saves time but also makes it easy to visualize and communicate design ideas with clients in real time, especially with its realistic rendering and walkthrough features.

What do you dislike most about this product?

What I dislike most about Chief Architect Premier is its limited support for advanced BIM workflows and real-time collaboration. While it’s excellent for residential design, it lacks features like multi-user editing, deeper data integration (e.g., IFC or COBie), and robust interoperability with other professional design platforms like Revit or Archicad, which can make coordination on larger or multidisciplinary projects more challenging.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're considering Chief Architect Premier, I recommend it highly for residential architects, home builders, and remodelers looking for an intuitive and visually rich design tool; invest time in learning its automatic building tools and 3D features, make use of its extensive library content and rendering options, and be aware that while it’s excellent for solo or small-team workflows, it may not be ideal for large-scale or multi-user BIM projects due to its limited collaboration and interoperability features.

What differentiates Chief Architect Premier from other similar products?

I appreciate the limitless customizability, there appear to be options for everything. Undoubtedly, its primary purpose is 2D drawing, but its 3D rendering is pretty effective. The Layout Designer is simple to use and extremely powerful. The capacity to produce expert print drawings from the real draught strikes me as one of Chief Architect's major advantages. There are numerous solutions for this, including scaling and title bars. Overall, Chief Architect Premier has my highest recommendation.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I appreciate how easy to use Chief Architect Premier is. It is an excellent drafting tool for someone who is just getting started. The software is easy to learn how to use because of its simplicity.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Not a lot. However, I believe that the Premier when combined with Support Assurance is pricey for a small business.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Great product for 2D drawings but not for small organisations
