With the increase in cybersecurity threats, having a tool to block these attacks is crucial. In our organization, Avanan has been effective in protecting us from malware, phishing, and other cyber threats. The tool is simple to use and does not need extensive IT knowledge. Its integration with other third-party tools is also strong.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ease of use of Avanan is my favorite feature. It is easy to comprehend and gives me a sense of security when I use the internet and email.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't have any significant dislikes. For our mailboxes, it is a very good security solution. It is more user friendly and accurate than our prior solution, and I have not yet discovered any significant drawbacks.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Quarantined emails can be easily located and restored with Avanan. The support staff assists us in resolving issues when the mail explorer fails to locate a particular email. There may be a slight delivery delay typically less than 30 seconds because emails go through Avanan before returning to us.

My favorite aspect of Check Point Email Security is its inline, pre-inbox protection combined with broad collaboration app coverage. Unlike many solutions that only filter after delivery, it prevents malicious emails, links, and files from ever reaching the user’s inbox, which greatly reduces risk. At the same time, it extends this protection to Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Slack, and SharePoint—covering the modern collaboration ecosystem where many threats now emerge. This proactive, holistic approach ensures users stay protected across both email and workplace tools without adding complexity.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The main drawback of Check Point Email Security is that the interface and policy management can feel complex compared to some competitors. Setting up granular rules or fine-tuning policies may require more expertise, which could be challenging for smaller teams without dedicated security staff. In addition, advanced features like Incident Response services or extended collaboration coverage may come as add-ons, which can increase overall cost. While the protection quality is excellent, simplifying the user experience and making advanced capabilities more accessible out of the box would make the product even stronger.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

When considering Check Point Email Security, plan your deployment approach—API-based or inline MX routing to fit your environment. Go beyond email by enabling protection for Teams, OneDrive, and Slack to secure collaboration tools. Invest time in tuning policies to reduce false positives while maintaining strong defense. Smaller teams can benefit from Incident Response as a Service, and integrating with Check Point Infinity ensures unified visibility and maximum security value across the ecosystem.
