What differentiates CData Sync from other similar products?

Designed for ease-of-use with an intuitive interface, CDATA is a data platform tool, automating workflow tasks in a simple and transparent fashion and removing the need for developing ETL tasks or manually writing code and validation checks. Shifting the burden of handling common and repetitive tasks from the user to technology, CDATA leverages smart technology to intelligently accelerate performance tuning on the fly.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

CDATA is in effect, an engineering environment for the accurate movement and manipulation of large amounts of data, handling a wide variety of sourced formats.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are some functionality issues when by-passing default settings and utilising tsql as part of the ETL, ie: filtering. This can at times be quite cumbersome

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

With the SQL SSIS connectivity to external data sources, params can generally be passed to limit data being pulled. With CData, params being passed are not available - so this has to be hard coded with the overriding tsql against the SSIS package ie: All data available Today, or Yesterday etc. If network goes down over the weekend and the code itself is hard coded to only pull over yesterday and today data, and failure is not found till Monday, then the ssis package has to be manually edited in order to pick up all the weekend data, prior to yesterday. This is not a regular thing, but has happened
