What differentiates Amazon Fraud Detector from other similar products?

It's nice that you can deal with Amazon for many services, that way all information is together in one place and log in is easier. Dealing with Amazon in the past made it seem easier to choose them for their fraud detector versus other options.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The customer service team is VERY kind and helpful!

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sometimes there is a long time to wait on hold when contacting customer service, I have been disconnected before, so hoping there can be a better and easier way to contact help if needed.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you use Amazon for other business tools, keep expanding and use them for as much as you can.

Fraud Detector uses the massive power of machine learning to help us identify suspicious loan applications before they ever reach our underwriting team

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I appreciate how I can define specific business rules that automatically trigger a manual review when an application exceeds a certain risk threshold.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The platform also requires a certain level of technical expertise to interpret the model performance metrics and set the correct risk thresholds

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Avoid it if your application volume is low and your verification process is primarily manual and face-to-face

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

If I had to highlight one standout aspect of Amazon Fraud Detector, it would be its automated machine learning pipeline. Unlike many fraud detection tools that require heavy data science expertise or manual rule-building, Fraud Detector automatically takes care of: - Data validation (cleaning and preparing inputs) - Feature engineering (extracting useful fraud-related signals) - Algorithm selection & tuning (choosing the best ML model without manual trial-and-error) - Deployment (making the model available for real-time predictions).

What do you dislike most about this product?

The biggest drawback of Amazon Fraud Detector is its limited future availability. As of late 2025, AWS announced that it is no longer accepting new customers, which means organizations cannot start fresh implementations. Existing customers can continue using it, but anyone evaluating fraud detection solutions today must look at alternatives like Amazon SageMaker, AutoGluon, or AWS WAF.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
