What differentiates Alteryx from other similar products?

It is high powered, offers a breadth of functionality. Regular updates and product enhancements available to users at their leisure on a portal without having to deal with a lot of interaction with a sales or customer support team.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is quick and easy to use and learn on a regular basis if you already have some programming and data mining experience, as well as the data model knowledge at your organization to really dig into all of the features Alteryx offers to enhance daily business productivity without the red tape of going through BI for every data analysis and report request.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Cost continually increases and product quality/support has waned with each passing year. The last 2-3 versions released are very buggy and crash if you do not have a very high RAM/memory machine and not all companies are willing to invest in both Alteryx licenses and high powered machines for users. It would be great to have more licensing steps for a basic user who wants to use Alteryx for automation versus a user that would utilize for both data mining and data science-type analysis.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Ensure that if you are going to invest in Alteryx, you make time to utilize all it has to offer in order to get the most benefit from it. Alteryx is an investment - not just a tool you pay for and may use "at some point".
