Enterprise Backup and Availability Software Users Confirm Reliability as Paramount, Shows SoftwareReviews Report

Zerto IT Resilience Platform, Rubrik Cloud Data Management, Microsoft Azure Backup, and IBM Spectrum Protect named champions in 2020 Emotional Footprint Awards.

TORONTO, Apr. 15, 2020 – SoftwareReviews announces its 2020 Enterprise Backup and Availability Emotional Footprint Award winners, as determined by software users, who feel that four software vendors have provided them with exceptional customer experiences. According to users’ answers to questions focused on satisfaction, which have been crafted by seasoned IT industry analysts at Info-Tech Research Group, the vendor champions are:
·         Zerto IT Resilience Platform
·         Rubrik Cloud Data Management
·         Microsoft Azure Backup
·         IBM Spectrum Protect

The Emotional Footprint Awards are showcased in a report of software reviews focused on vendor relationships with software users from the customer’s point of view.
Zerto IT Resilience Platform led the championship group with an Emotional Footprint score of +96 with a value index of 86%. Zerto earned first-place status for saving users time and transparency, with a perfect score of +100 for each. Rubrik Cloud Data Management users also gave the vendor an Emotional Footprint score of +96 with a value index of 85%. Rubrik took the number-one spot in many areas, including demonstrating fairness and friendly negotiation – which earned a perfect score of 100%. Microsoft Azure Backup, with a Net Emotional Footprint Score of +86, did consistently well, earning second place for security. IBM Spectrum Protect also did well across the scorecard, earning a Net Emotional Footprint score of +87, and taking second place for appreciating incumbent status and continually improving.

The bottom line: enterprise backup and availability software users above all value being able to rely on their vendors, while they were most disappointed in vendors’ tendency to over-promise.

“Trusting that your vendor is providing the right solution and pricing it competitively is invaluable,” said Darryl Levesque, principal research advisor, infrastructure, at Info-Tech Research Group.
“When your vendor sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and you should approach with caution. Trusting that the relationship your backup vendor is creating is of mutual benefit is not only critical for the vendor, but of paramount importance to you. Today, data is probably one of your most precious assets and you need to trust that your vendor sees that as well.”

Levesque continued, “With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the world, it is strategic to look at solutions that will allow for a lights-out approach. Not having to enter a data center to change tapes or stand up new servers is of strong importance. Social distancing and emergency orders on business mean that your staff will be challenged if you maintain a physical infrastructure presence that requires care and feeding. Speak to your vendor to see what solutions they have that you can take advantage of to reduce the risk and exposure of your staff during these challenging times. Also understand that your vendors will be experiencing the same challenges you are. You may need to look into how they will best support you and your business while they address the COVID-19 restrictions we are all under.”

About the Emotional Footprint Diamond and Emotional Footprint Awards

The Emotional Footprint Diamond illustrates the customer experience with software vendors, showing a complex relationship spanning procurement, implementation, service and support. The Net Emotional Footprint of a vendor is a result of aggregated emotional response ratings in the areas of service, negotiation, product impact, conflict resolution, and strategy and innovation, creating a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and its product from the software users’ point of view. The data published in the Emotional Footprint Diamond is collected from real end users through authentic software review surveys and meticulously verified for veracity. The survey uses standard net promoter scoring (positive percentage minus negative percentage) to arrive at the Net Emotional Footprint score. These skillfully crafted survey questions are informed by two decades of IT research and advisory.

Vendors with top user scores receive the Emotional Footprint Award. The Emotional Footprint Awards, an initiative proudly founded in 100% user-review data, is free of traditional components such as market presence and analyst opinion, which are opaque in nature and may be influenced by vendor pressure, financial or otherwise.
