Sakai 19.3 Maintenance Released

This is the third maintenance release since Sakai 19 was released in spring 2019. Sakai 19 introduced the new Rubrics tool and improvements to usability, grading, notifications, and more.

Thanks to its open-source community, Sakai is continuously providing fixes, security updates, and improvements to its users.

In this maintenance release, Sakai 19.3 has 143 improvements in areas such as assignments, gradebook, lessons, and content review (Turnitin). There are also nine security issues fixed. Full details can be found on Sakai’s confluence page.

Our Take

Thanks to being open source and having a collaborative community of users, Sakai can identify bugs and respond to issues quickly. This aligns with its goal to be a nimble and responsive product and community, which is part of the reason it received the SoftwareReviews Customer Experience Champion award.
