What differentiates Qlik Sense from other similar products?

I don't always know where to look for the information I need. The smart search tool is great. It searches through all of my info when I enter in what I'm looking for.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I appreciate that I can enter in a keyword like "top sales in London" and it will show me the right charts and data. It makes sense and saves me a lot of time.

What do you dislike most about this product?

If your application is particularly big and complicated, the search can take a while.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The search function makes it possible for everyone to analyse data, not just professionals.

QlikSense capabilities for Business Intelligence

Likeliness to Recommend

6 /10

What differentiates Qlik Sense from other similar products?

Qlik Sense stands out with its Associative Engine, allowing users to explore data freely without being limited to predefined queries. It offers powerful self-service visualization and governed data discovery in a single platform. Its scalability and hybrid deployment options make it adaptable for both small teams and large enterprises.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect of Qlik Sense is the Associative Engine, which lets you uncover hidden insights by exploring data in any direction, not just along predefined drill paths.

What do you dislike most about this product?

What I dislike most about Qlik Sense is that advanced features like write-back, version control, and some visualizations require third-party extensions, which can complicate maintenance and increase costs.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I’d recommend clearly defining your data governance and security model before rollout to maximize trust in insights. Invest time in training users on the Associative Engine so they can fully leverage self-service exploration. Also, plan for extension management or integrations if you need advanced features beyond the out-of-the-box offering.

Getting Project Data to Make Sense.

Likeliness to Recommend

8 /10

What differentiates Qlik Sense from other similar products?

Qlik is powered by its Associative Engine. Contrary to the old ways and methods of query-based tools where you find yourself on a fixed route, Qlik permits exploration. I can have clicks on any point of data, such as a given component, and the whole application will automatically filter so that I can see all the relevant data, the suppliers, the budgetary effect, the assigned engineers, and even the irrelevant ones. I have not encountered this liberty to build connections in real time anywhere.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I would be able to extract information about our resource planner, parts inventory, and financial systems, and Qlik would automatically connect them. Furthermore, I am not passively reviewing reports; I am literally interrogating my data. A potential budget overrun or resource conflict in a subsequent sprint can be identified by clicking around in seconds. It also allows me to be proactive, not reactive, which is all in my job.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The scripting language of the data load editor is powerful but can be a little arcane to those not specifically data analysts, which is a minor barrier to entry.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This was tracking component delivery of a new build. The primary dashboard appeared okay, and when I clicked on a late supplier in one chart, everything related to the project became gray in the other chart. As it happened, one supplier delay was on the verge of triggering and derailing three different work streams. We had several weeks to spare catching it, due to that associative exercise of drilling down. I use it when I need to see the invisible links in our project data.
