What differentiates Avolution Abacus from other similar products?

You can customize the tool a lot in terms of metamodel. It's very easy and you can do it yourself without the need to involve the vendor. No organizations have the same need for a metamodel or method, this is why this feature is very important, so you can make architecture that speaks to your individual organization.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The highly customizable metamodel and the fact that their license and product structure is built around enabling the whole organization to interact with the architecture in the Enterprise portal.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It's a slight inconvenience that you can't deep link in catalogues to other objects' properties, but it is possible to work around it using the algorithm builder available in Abacus, where you can make the algorithms yourself without the involvement of the vendor.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

When we ran the tender to purchase this tool, all the vendors claimed that their tools were easy and intuitive to use. This is why we requested video proof. Avolution was the only tool that was actually easy to use in our usecases in the videos too. So my recommendation is: It's easy to claim that your tool is easy and intuitive - but demand to actually see it in action - and here Avolution Abacus was a cut above the rest.

Avolution Abacus differentiates from other similar products by its responsive and knowledgeable customer support in finding the most suitable solutions in the tool to achieve our goals with its usage in our department. The most added value points during its adoption were the provision of a clear Application Landscape Overview and the ability to incorporate metrics on top of it, such as Technical Debt and Design Debt criticality. Also, there's ease of navigating the knowledge portal and autonomously finding supporting documentation and materials to clarify any doubts.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Avolution Abacus is highly customizable, and we can easily find solutions to our needs with the tool. We've been highly benefiting from the business process modeling capabilities and the fact that we can incorporate viewpoints, frameworks, and best practices for our daily use.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There's still a high dependency on our side on the use of script-based solutions to achieve our out-of-the-box solutions, and on running those scripts to apply certain updates to our Enterprise Architecture, since the data between the Studio and Enterprise platforms is not real-time integrated.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Would recommend requesting a Demo and checking how the tool performs in achieving the solutions you're looking for.
