What differentiates ActiveCampaign from other similar products?
Cost was a factor, it's less expensive than HubSpot.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Email automations for new contacts allows them to get more information from us with no manual intervention.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Active Campaign has an extremely fragile design in their automations which caused my company to lose $10,000's in potential revenue. I created an online form, which website visiters can fill out to get more information (or a trial) from our company. This is a major source of high quality customer leads. By simply making a slight change of wording to a form option , the entire automation broke, which we did not realize for 6+ months. There was no warning and nothing in the user guide indicating a problem. Companies were requesting information from us and we were never notified because of the broken automation.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I can no longer recommend AC because of the fragile design. If you are a small business relying on email automations, you are taking a risk with Active Campaign. The lost revenue due to AC would have easily paid for a competitor like Hub Spot. The pipeline feature is not very user friendly, and if you expect people to be in the system regularly, the slowness will frustrate user adoption. Be careful.

Average email marketing tool with frustrating bugs

What differentiates ActiveCampaign from other similar products?
Differentiation is not clear, there are many email marketing/automation platforms in the category. No part of AC stands out to me using it over the last 2 years.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Nothing stands out as a favorite aspect of the product. I would have a hard time recommending this product, especially given its price.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Very difficult to add previously sent campaigns to an automation. It can be done but the UI makes it very difficult. I find the platform loads slowly, and the email design functionality is frustrating to use and test for mobile.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Explore others, maybe MailChimp, ConvertKit, or HubSpot. ActiveCampign is not on the cutting edge when it comes to designing for the modern email user.

What differentiates ActiveCampaign from other similar products?
ActiveCampaign allows me to react quickly to contest participation actions with personalized emails. Its email builder is easy to use, and it offers many integrations and real-time behavior automations. I can segment lists dynamically and trigger customized, multi-message sequences that match each individual's interests based on whether they registered, shared daily bonus content, or qualified for different prize tiers.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I can efficiently scale tailored conversion opportunities such as discount promotions, special content recommendations, insider offers, and invitations to related follow-on events to both warm new leads and existing contacts. Furthermore, I ensure that no participant is ignored, and I track engagement over time to fine-tune campaigns for maximum impact.
What do you dislike most about this product?
ActiveCampaign offers excellent solutions for automating post-promo nurturing based on behaviors. However, it could provide even more customization flexibility with a couple of additional features. For instance, multi-conditional segmentation logic would allow assigning contacts to tracks based on any combination of attributes and metrics instead of just single behaviors.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
ActiveCampaign is not perfect, and while rare, minor sync delays or rendering issues may briefly disrupt real-time trigger flows at high email volumes. However, its ability to react to every form of participation across our digital campaigns and then seamlessly nurture contacts based on these actions is unmatched. I highly recommend ActiveCampaign for any marketing team looking to improve lead generation and conversion pipeline growth through campaign automation.
