What differentiates Orbus Software iServer365 from other similar products?
The three differentiators for us are the ease of maintaining the repository, the brilliant integration between Visio and the application which makes modelling easy and effective, and the solution running on and leveraging the MSFT Office 365 platform.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The ease of leveraging the data and relationships when it comes time to model. Far and away better than any of our previous EA tools.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Configuring the different templates in Visio, especially because we use Archimate and Core EA, is not great. It doesn't need to be done often so it's not too bad. The Solution Hub Power BI reports are great start but can look goofy if you don't need to manage all of attributes the reports expect to have populated. We have PBI experience so it's not a huge issue for us to create our own.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you aren't 100% committed to a particular meta-model make certain you understand the implications of which model to implement and get the templates set up according. Once that's done - everything falls into place and it's an absolute breeze to knock out models based on the repository data.
