VERY USEFULL FOR QA ON REMOTE LOCATIONS

Likeliness to Recommend

7 / 10

What differentiates Applause from other similar products?

One of the leaders in the market. Lot of years of experience on crowd testing, global coverage on regions, devices and technologies. LArge number of testers working for them.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Having local testers on remote locations for running QA cycles.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Testers are working for other companies as well, some times BUgs are reported with higher severity to earn more money. We normally spend a lot of time curating Appluase reports. Business model is quite rigid, based on slots (technologies) meanning if you want to oftenly move from one technology to another you need to have a Multi slot license which is very expensive.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Do a benchmark comparison to make sure Applause business model adapts to your own use case, otherwise you might find alternatives at a more convenient price.

  • Saves Time
  • Acts with Integrity
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity

  • Less Friendly Negotiation
  • Leverages Incumbent Status

Non professional crowdsource handles most work.

Likeliness to Recommend

4 / 10

What differentiates Applause from other similar products?

It is important to note there are two main services to applause. One as a platform to organize a tester base and the other as testing services. Applause boasts a vast crowdsource making claims of close a million users across the entire planet giving widespread coverage of devices and in the wild testing. The reality of the tester base actually testing is only a few hundred domestically.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

In limited situations, they do have the ability to call lots of people to the task in short notice but it comes at a heavy price..

What do you dislike most about this product?

The actual testing services provided are non-professional testers making sub minimum wage which tends to add a lot of noise and limited usefulness. The platform as product itself is clunky and awkward to use. Formatting options are very limited and

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You will be oversold what they can actually accomplish and you will be pushed constantly into buying subscription packages that may not fit your product development lifecycle. As a testing services product they employee non professionals who are paid sub minimum wage, the quality of testing is often representative of this. 50 people can be invited to work on your product and 3-4 are actually heavily active unless you want to buy test case hours. As a platform for managing your own crowd of people, features are limited, the platform is bulky to use and lacks refinement. For a testing services company it is
