Norton 360
Norton has been one of the leading Internet Security brand since the dawn of modern computers. Symantec’s latest Norton 360 Internet Security suite promises to be a great out-of-the-box security system for the basic user.
First things first, this is an enormous file size. You must have about 300 MB of free space on your hard drive to install this. After that, it actually runs very smoothly and does not take up many resources on your computer.
One great feature of Norton 360 is the ability to back up and restore files. You can store your files securely online and always have a backup. This is an exceptional feature that is included, but don’t be fooled into paying more for Internet Security software for it. There are several online file storage sites like DropSend or Send6 that you can use and get more storage space for less money, and the process is basically the same and you can access the files from anywhere.
Norton 360 integrates with your browser and runs protocol to safeguard against identity theft while making online transactions. This is an important tool, since just this year over 100 million people have had their identity stolen. Norton 360 will recognize an intruder and block them. It’s very simple to use and adjust to your liking. The biggest drawback to this feature is the lack of support for the Mozilla Firefox and Opera browsers.
We loved Norton 360 for its ease-of-use and light system usage. The online file storage and backup is one of the key features here that most other Internet Security suites do not offer. I think they could have done better with the overall support. Also, this does not work with Firefox and that is a huge drawback since many Internet surfers (myself included) have crossed over and swear by Mozilla Firefox as their primary browser.
