BitDefender Antivirus 2009

BitDefender Antivirus 2009 provides advanced protection  against viruses and identity theft at a great value. For the quality of its  components and relatively low price, this is a great all-around antivirus  solution for anyone.

BitDefender works seamlessly with your computer while you are emailing, instant messenging, paying bills online, or using sites like myspace or facebook to keep your identity and login information out of the hands of phishers. We were impressed with the way it handled adware and spam, but the spam filter seemed to bog down our email a bit, mostly while trying to download files.

The one area that seems a little gray with this product is its ability to remove viruses and malware that is already on your computer. It may not recognize the threat after several scans, in our case after four scans of the same folder it finally questioned the item and we removed it. Although this is one its only flaws, and this is a simply great value for a proactive approach to safely using the Internet. Starting at just $29.95 for a one year 3-user license, it is a much cheaper alternative that works respectively in the shadows of its competition.
