INSTALLATION
Installation remains as fast and easy as in previous versions of NovaBACKUP. The total time taken is minimal, depending of course on the speed of your internet connection. The space taken up by the program once installed remains minimal, at 30MB. And finally, configuration is virtually non-existent, you can apply your own settings to the particular tasks you would like NovaBACKUP to perform. However, selection and applying these settings is just as simple as everything else this program offers.
INTERFACE
The Interface in NovaBACKUP 7.5 combines aesthetics as well as functionality to make an appealing and efficient environment to perform all the operations that NovaBACKUP makes possible. The excellent wizards are clearly displayed on the welcome page and the large, convenient, and very clear toolbar will certainly satisfy the advanced user who choses not to use the wizards, even though I am sure advanced users and beginners alike will appreciate the wizards that NovaBACKUP 7.5 offers. Shortcuts to general configuration settings are also prevalent and easily accessible from the welcome page. Also present is a display of both recent operations performed, as well as scheduled operations to be performed so it will always be clear when operations have taken place, or will take place.
FUNCTIONALITY
NovaBACKUP 7.5 can be easily configured to suit many preferences depending on how the user would like it to operate. There are three general configuration settings that will provide the majority of users with a starting point for configuration; Backup, Restore and Disaster Recovery.
If it is a general backup your looking for, just in case some unforseen problem arrives, selecting "Backup" from the toolbar will bring up a screen with the folders on the left pane and the specific files displayed on the right. From this screen you can choose to backup folders, drives or individual files. Once you have selected the items you wish to Backup, you can click on the settings button to assign encryption, filters, if you want to enable the anti-virus support, your destination devices and any custom scripts you want to run. After this you are only a click away.
The Restore function serves your after-the-fact recovery requirements of lost or corrupted data. This time selecting "Restore" will bring up a three pane window, allowing you to easily view and manage the backup files available, those you are working with, and those that have been restored to their earlier state. Once you have chosen what backup you want to restore, you merely have to double-click to select, and then click the restore button and all directories, folders, and files restored, will be active and viewable from the restored data pane. Unfortunately you cannot restore individual files within folders and directories that have been backed-up, but I'm sure we can all imagine how unwieldy the backup files would become if they were not compressed to a state that prevented this operation.
In that instance where all seems lost, Disaster Recovery may be the only option. This situation will mean you will need to ensure you have a destination media capable of handling all of the files you currently have in the Program Files folder on your Operating System drive as well as any other drive, folder, or files you want to prepare against catastrophic failure. Essentially the rest of the settings are the same as when you are running a standard backup. You are also given the option to create a generic Disaster Recovery boot disk from the menu along the top of the screen.
And don't forget, if your not very concerned with settings and specifics, the Wizards offered by NovaBackup 7.5 are equipped with default settings that allow for these operations to be performed with ease and minimal considerations.

NovaBACKUP 7.5 is both dynamic and incredibly user friendly program, a much desired combination in any software. Your level of experience is made virtually irrelevant by the ease and functionality offered by this software. Whether you are an exec within a growing multinational, or a one-person show trying to squeeze as much prodution out of your desktop PC as possible, NovaBACKUP offers what you need to ensure you data is secure and well protected. NovaBACKUP ensures that should disaster strike, downtime will be determined entirely by your hardware's ability to recover and not by your ability to generate the lost data.
